Basic Web Development Course for Saint Nicholas Houses

In this 6-week course, which is offered Tuesday through Thursday from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, the students will be exposed to HTML5, CSS and JavaScript. By the end of this course, the student will have developed a working set of web pages with various forms of functionality based upon CSS design standards and a working understanding of JavaScript programming.

In a nutshell, what will I learn if I take this course?

The students will learn the HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language and that it is the standard markup language for the creation of web pages. CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets and it represents the design conventions that are applied to the display of HTML elements on screen, paper and other media. The students will learn how to use Slack in class as the shared space for assignments, for group communication and as a place to store the students’ accumulated work products.
